I recently had the opportunity to review a very powerful Christian movie called THIS IS OUR TIME.One of the best movies I have seen in a long time.It is a family movie but I would not recommend watching around very young children.
It is an absolutely amazing story about an organization which helps children in India and a young couple who decide it is God's calling to travel to India and assist with the children.I loved learning about the real-life ministry that is featured in the movie called Embrace a Village, and it works in India with leprosy patients and their families.The founders of the ministry appear in the movie and also also people that the ministry works with in India.
God has a purpose for all of us and wants to use us to share the love of Jesus and that Jesus died for our sins.We need to allow God to direct us in that purpose and live our life the way He wants us to live it.It is a movie that talks about faith and patience and endurance.It is a movie of friendships and family and love.
You're going to want to have the tissues nearby when you watch the movie something traumatic happens to the young couple and their friends and family.The young woman dies and the husband,their friends begin to grieve and show the real signs of frustration and questioning God's purpose in all their lives.They try to find meaning in their grief and answers to their question "WHY did this woman of God lose her life when she was serving Him?"
This part of the movie hit home for me as I am a widow of 33 months now.The grief is so overwelming and you do really question God and ask "Why?"
As you watch the movie you can see God's purpose in the loss and how their efforts serve God's purpose to assist with the mission and children in India.
A question is asked many times throughout the movie: WHO IS GOD ASKING ME TO BE?
The storylines were very interesting, the character of Ethan, who is in a time of waiting and feeling that his life doesn't have as much meaning as those of his friends and family.I know I have been in a waiting place- so this part of the movie had the message that we're always where God wants us to be, and we just need to be obedient and faithful in the place He has us in, no matter how meaningless it seems to us.
After viewing this movie many of you will begin to think about your own life and the purpose for your life in a different way.THIS IS OUR TIME is a movie worth watching.
