My family and I recently had the opportunity to review Sandcastle Waterpark in Pittsburgh, PA.This was the very first time my family and I ever visited this wonderful waterpark since it opened in the year 1989.Let me just say I do not know why we have not taken the time to go there on our summer vacations but I know next Summer we will be going back many,many times during the Summer.My sister and I stayed with her grand son,two grand daughters and my daughter in the children's section of the waterpark while my niece and her husband went and enjoy the water slides Blue Tubaluba - Tube Slide it is Sandcastle's first dual rider,enclosed slides.blue in color and partly translucent slide.It let them experience the water thrills of misters, waterfalls, and total darkness along two 450-foot long slides before they landed in a 4-foot deep pool and they also went on the NEW! Dragon's Den - Tube slide and they had a a ride of their lives as they were catapulted through the mysterious darkness and then they were plummet into the mist-shrouded abyss of the dragon.and they vanished from sight then they reappeared once again.My family and I all really enjoyed the Wet Willie's Water Works-Children's playground it was supervised by lifeguards.My sister's two grand daughters,her grand son and my daughter along with other children had the control over 20,000 gallons of splashing fun, pulling ropes, twisting valves, and turning handles that unleash geysers, fountains and sprays.They played on the many slides there too.There were hundreds of beach chairs both shaded and sunning areas for the family's to use along with family and public restrooms.We all enjoyed the Tad Pool-Children's pool area and it specifically designed for little children,the Tad Pool was a great place for us adults to help the kids conquer their first time on the slides.The Tad Pool is 2-feet deep with two slides and plenty of wading room there and also has baby elephant waterfall for the children to enjoy.We also enjoyed the Sandbar Pool - Swimming pool it had a large mushroom waterfall that the children and us adults really enjoyed and a few other waterfalls there and we also went to Mon-Tsunami - Wave pool it is a 20,000 square foot Wave Pool generating ocean-like waves, and can even send diamond waves criss-crossing the 300,000 gallon pool. Depths range from zero to six feet.The pool requires all children under 48" to wear a life jacket that they provide free of charge and be within arms reach of a guardian.The waves were very powerful.My daughter and I were not in the wave pool very far and the one wave hit us and I saw that I was going under so I held my daughter up so she would not go under the wave with me,the next time we go in this wave pool we will be sitting in the shallow part of the pool.You can bet me that!

For your conveniences, guests may keep their small sandwich zip lock bags in a small cooler no bigger than an 8 quart personal cooler (10"x12"x9"). Sandcastle will not permit coolers larger than this. For any groups wishing to bring large coolers or a picnic- picnic tables are conveniently located outside of our park and guests may enter and exit as many times as they wish throughout the day. Cabanas
Oh, yeah. This is the way to do a day at Sandcastle! Reserve your own private cabana – a breezy 10 x 10 canopy above four lounge chairs, four chairs and a table – for parties of up to 8 people. You can relax and enjoy the park all the more knowing you’ve got plenty of shade and seat reserved for you all day long. Choose a cabana from three locations: the Wave Pool, Wet Willies or the boardwalk overlooking the Mushroom pool.
Each cabana has an 8 person limit. Guest may purchase a cabana in advance online or on the day of their visit at the
park (based on availability).
