When I was 3 1/2 years old we moved.We to a new apartment.Well I started kindergarten when I was 4 years old,I remember that I loved school and I was excited to start my new school.But I was not ready for school so went back to kindergarten the next year.I made a lot of friends,but after I finished kindergarten they closed the school down.I was so excited to go to a new school.But soon after beginning the new school I was not as excited or happy.There were a lot of kids in my class and in this new school that I soon realized were bullies,or at least to me and a few other kids.I will never forget how it made me feel,I soon hated to go to school.These kids would call me names and make fun of me almost daily. It was horrible and something I will never forget.I was at a new school,no friends, and mean kids making fun of me.I did make new friends.But those mean kids continued to bully me and make fun of me till High School.And as much as I'd like to say it didn't affect me, it did of course.I remember each and every one of their names.
Amelia will be starting Pre School soon.I have been thinking about her going to pre school for while now.It saddens because my baby girl is growing and is no longer a baby.But I am very worried about bullies.I worry that bullies are getting worse and meaner then they were when I was a kid.Amelia is such a sweet loving little girl.I don't want her to be bullied or have to be hurt by others.It changes how you are as a person when you are bullied bad by others.I am thinking more and more to home school Amelia. was happy to have the opportunity to review the book Hugo The Happy Starfish The Last Bully.

Hugo is a little starfish and so it’s not surprising that in this story he comes across several bigger fish in the ocean. Sadly, they are bigger fish with the wrong attitudes – they are bullies! After seeing his friend getting bullied, Hugo decides enough is enough. He forms the Anti-Bully Club,ABC and teaches the bullies a valuable lesson about respect.
By working together as a group, Hugo and his friends manage to show the bullies that there is always a bigger fish in the sea and that happiness comes from respecting others not bullying them.

I showed Amelia the book and she is still a little to young to know what a bully is.I will explain when she is a little older what a bully is and read her the book again.I know when she watches TV she does not like cartoons that are mean to each other or bullies and she will cry.I will talk to Amelia about what is happening in the story and we will discuss how Hugo and his friends solved their problem with bullies. I will ask Amelia what she would do if someone tried to bully her.I will let her know to tell the bully that she does not like what they are doing or saying to her.And another thing is to tell an adult, like a teacher,I will tell her and needs to come to me and let me know.I will also discussed with her that it is not alright to be a bully and that she should never say or do mean things to other people.
