I recently had the opportunity to review The Gaither Vocal Band SOMETIMES IT TAKES A MOUNTAIN CD.I want to say this is one of my favorite CD's I have in my collection.
One of the most popular and acclaimed groups in contemporary gospel music is The Gaither Vocal Band.Their lineup has experienced multiple changes as members have moved on and others stepping in to fill their place in the thirty-plus years.For most music groups these changes would have met the end of the group.The sound of the voices has changed for the vocal group throughout the years but the group’s commitment to amazing harmonies.Sometimes It Takes a Mountain songs are about celebrating our savior and sharing a message of faith and is the band's 35th recording.

Gaither Vocal Band consists of gospel legend Bill Gaither and his bandmates Adam Crabb, Wes Hampton, David Phelps, and Todd Suttles.On Sometimes It Takes a Mountain you can hear their impressive vocals,versatility in their vocals and music styles.This album has just about every style of music from rhythm & blues,rock & roll to Southern soul .The track "Jesus Gave Me Water" has a rhythm & blues style,Title track "Sometimes It Takes a Mountain" has Southern soul style."Sometimes It Takes a Mountain"is one of mine and my sisters favorite songs on this CD.Track "Happy Rhythm" has a boogie-woogie feel to it and is my little girl Amelia's favorite songs.When she hears it she dances to it and says "This is my jam!" The track "Resurrection" has a arty pop style to it,The track "When Fear Comes Knocking" has a rock & roll style,"Heaven Came Down" has a funk feel to it.There is also a traditional gospel and contemporary Christian style songs on Sometimes It Takes a Mountain.
